Winterfest 2010 Summary

This years February 28th party theme was based upon the 2010 Winter Olympics. Forty eight attendees (41 members, 7 guests) enjoyed cross country skiing, snowshoeing, dinner and dancing at the Black Mountain Lodge.

A total of 19 people participated in the outdoor activities. Don and Sue McKinnon led the cross-country skiing expeditions and Tom Crook stumbled through the woods with his band of snowshoers trailing behind. Tom even had refreshments stashed along the trail. The weather was great to be outdoors and all had a good time in the snow. All participants were awarded gold medals for their bravery.

Black Mountain Lodge served a delicious plated 3-course dinner. Entrees included Prime Rib, Chicken Hemingway, and Whitefish. Don Frazier (DJ) kicked off the entertainment with a blend of 60's music that generated a lot of dancing. Photos of the event can be viewed on our website. (Report submitted by Ric and B.D. Gillig; Committee chairpersons).
