Year six of the Duncan Bay Boat Club rendezvous proved to be as exciting as ever! 

The standard powerboat team that typically cut-up a cord of wood for our traditional bonfire was absent (their wives over committed to another event).  None-the less, a new team of sail boaters pinch-hitted to save the day.

The food that our cruisers brought was truly a gourmand’s paradise.  From the simple to the savory, the sweet, and the decadent, there was a tasty treat to suit everyone.  We“ Duncanites” are famous for enjoying our food!

While blessed with spectacular weather the previous five years, this years partiers’ were chased away around 10 PM thanks to a light drizzle from Mother Nature.  Not to be denied a full night, many a party broke out back on a few unnamed boats.  Sounds of laughter were heard in Government Bay on into the night!

Over 26 boats attended including; Hopscotch II, Footprints, Joint Effort, Thor, Liesel, Loon Feather, Low Bidder, Maiden the Shade, Mistress, Shiloh, Spirit of Aloha, Gayla-Malia, Wind Dancer, Murray Time, TeemZooma Shenandoah, Step Two, Sun Cat, Serenity, Rudder Nonsense, Sailfish, Gypsy Time, Sweet Dreams, Wind Trail, Harmonia, and Last Dance. 

Thanks to Joint Effort ‘s grand kids for the attendee list and complimentary dinghy rides.  As usual, thanks to everyone, for pitching in on set up, clean up, photography, meet and greet, and general hospitality in true Duncan Bay style.

It is estimated that this year’s event brought more first time participants than ever before, boding well for the success of rendezvous’ to come!
