The annual Duncan Bay Boat Club rendezvous continues to be an overwhelming success! This year’s event was the fifth in a chain of great get-to-gethers.  Once again we were blessed with spectacular weather.  After sunset, the almost full moon allowed dinghies safe return to their boats.  In addition, the “later returners” were further aided by occasional meteor showers.   

Over 27 boats attended including; Happy Heart, TeemZooma, Fifty/Fifty, Isle Venture, Stingray, Thor, Liesel, Foot Print’s sister ship, Dutch Treat, Interlude, Markelle, Can’t Pack It, Clean Getaway, White Heels, Northern Light, Murray Time, Shenandoah, Step Two, Sun Cat, Serenity, Thunder Rolls, G. V. Black, Esprit, Freedoms Turn, Wind Trail, Hey Jude and Terrapin.

This year the rendezvous was graced by very “newly weds” (but one day old).  The crowd eagerly waited ashore to congratulate the handsome and happy couple.  They were so happy in fact they did not arrive ashore until dust.  By that time the champagne toast was gone and the well wishers were aglow.

We were also visited by a group of salty pirates.  They appeared on the horizon and threatened to overtake the festivities.  To our delight, our pirates were “Duncanites” and ate, drank, and made for a merry time.
